As part of their practical training, film and photographic students from CPUT in partnership with the Peninsula School Feeding Association, interviewed and took photographs of Mrs Wendy Ackerman at Stormont Madubela Primary School in Nyanga yesterday.
PSFA receives funding from the Ackerman Family Educational Trust to ensure that 150 learners at this school receive a daily nutritious breakfast and lunch while at school.
A big thank you to Mrs Ackerman for finding the time in her busy schedule to do the interview.]]>

t Provincial Government for eight years. She then decided to gain international experience and went to work in the UK for the Post Graduate Medical Education Board in London for a year.
Chantal decided to return to South Africa during 2009 and joined the corporate sector as an external sales representative in the IT industry.
During her spare time, Chantal completed a BCom degree in Tourism and Business Management through UNISA. She also enjoys travelling, the outdoors, photographing nature and meeting people from different cultures. Chantal is married to Morne and they have a two year old son called Jesse.
A passion of Chantal’s is to help others less fortunate than herself. She believes that her drive for success combined with her empathy for people, will make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
We welcome Chantal to the PSFA family and wish her a long and rewarding tenure with us.

The majority of these ECD’s are currently being operated from the carer’s homes due to the lack of infrastructure. They are very small, caring for approximately 30 children per crèche. The carers themselves are also impoverished.
The PSFA fieldworkers have conducted assessments at these eleven sites and are in the process of strategising with regard to how and where the food for these sites will be prepared. Over and above the supply of food, PSFA will also be providing each crèche with the utensils, equipment and cooking gas needed to prepare and serve nutritious meals on a daily basis.]]>

“PSFA is delighted to be associated with this major event on the Cape Town calendar. I would to thank the Avontuur Estate and Western Province Racing for contributing to our school feeding programme in this unique manner” says Charles Grey, Fundraising Manager at PSFA.
Avontuur Estate’s General Manager Pippa Mickleburgh said, “PSFA came at just the right time as we were in the process of identifying a new charity to benefit from our annual race day. We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership with PSFA.”]]>

own social network in order to support a good cause.
“Some of the country’s biggest brands, like Lucky Star and Investec Asset Management, are now buying media with Social Feed and the more the brands’ content is shared, the more children we feed. So, the brands get exposure, consumers get a say in who buys their social network, and we get to feed children in need,” said Simon Spreckley, ECD, Hellocomputer.
Which means that Social Feed is a new way to fill up your newsfeeds, while filling up some very hungry tummies.
“We’re so proud to launch this ‘media for good’ initiative, and we’re excited to get many brands involved. Just remember, no media budget is too small to make a difference. We believe Social Feed can help to grow and sustain the PSFA for many years to come,” said PSFA Fundraising Manager, Charles Grey.
So, what’s left to say except, South Africa, start sharing, but this time, for good. Go to www.socialfeed.co.za to make a difference.
EASY INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE SOCIAL FEED
Step 1 – Visit www.socialfeed.co.za and share with either your Facebook or Twitter Account
