The majority of these ECD’s are currently being operated from the carer’s homes due to the lack of infrastructure. They are very small, caring for approximately 30 children per crèche. The carers themselves are also impoverished.
The PSFA fieldworkers have conducted assessments at these eleven sites and are in the process of strategising with regard to how and where the food for these sites will be prepared. Over and above the supply of food, PSFA will also be providing each crèche with the utensils, equipment and cooking gas needed to prepare and serve nutritious meals on a daily basis.]]>
