We recently honoured our fundraising manager, Charles Grey, with a Long Service Award in recognition of his ten years of dedicated service to PSFA. Over the past decade, Charles’ tenure at PSFA has been marked by significant achievements, including overseeing the development of PSFA’s new website, implementing our CRM system (Salesforce), and recruiting a donor administrator. His efforts have increased our donor income from R6.5 million to R19 million annually. Additionally, he has successfully driven social media campaigns, increased corporate donor support by 70%, and secured annual national television and radio coverage for PSFA. Charles also oversees and secures sponsorships for PSFA’s annual fundraising event, Blisters for Bread, which attracts thousands of participants yearly.
Two of Charles’ most notable fundraising successes include raising over R23 million through PSFA’s COVID-19 appeal in 2020 and his involvement in the LottoStar Kfm Feeding Our Future Radiothon on 1 June 2022, which raised R20 million in just 12 hours. Charles has raised over R120 million during his tenure at PSFA.
“As the fundraising manager, I have had the privilege of contributing to PSFA’s vital mission of providing daily nutritious meals to underprivileged schoolchildren, ensuring that they can focus on their education without the burden of hunger. It has been an enriching journey, working alongside a passionate team committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of children in need.” Says Charles Grey.
