We are happy to announce that Mobile Digital Insights (MDI) made a generous donation to support our school nutrition programme at Silverlea Primary School in Athlone. The donation will enable PSFA to provide all the learners on our feeding programme with two daily meals for a year and we were also able to supply much-needed catering equipment for the school’s kitchen.
MDI originated in Melbourne, Australia with the goal of partnering with clients worldwide to address their needs and pain points when it comes to market research.
Market Research is not the only passion that the MDI team enjoy – CSR is an integral part of their being. With a fully operational South African team, one of MDI’s longest standing employees – Yumna Isaacs – embraced the CSR portfolio with wholeheartedness. Her journey with PSFA started in her school days when she was introduced to PSFA’s annual fundraising event, the Blisters for Bread Charity Family Fun Walk, It was with this fond memory of PSFA in mind, that looking for a charity to join forces with, was an easy task.
“PSFA’s team have a mantra that drives them in all the work they do. Their genuine interest in children and providing the basic amenities to fill up their tummies and their hearts is what inspired MDI to work with them” said Yumna Isaacs, Data Processing Director at MDI-South Africa.
The MDI global team focuses on a drive each year, where they challenge their team to do something in the spirit of wellness, focusing on themselves and their wellbeing. In doing so the MDI team used their own reach on social media to highlight mental health and wellbeing, highlighting PSFA as the charity that they were raising funds for. This catalysed a chain effect, and the greater community was encouraged to donate to PSFA through an online site.
“It was a heart-warming moment when we heard that we had raised enough funds to be able to support a school (Silverlea Primary School), by being able to buy all the equipment needed for the kitchen, along with the food to be able to feed ALL the learners with daily breakfasts and lunches for a full year. We thank PSFA for their self-effacing, authentic love and care they have for each child they help. We look forward to a long and uplifting journey with you.” Fiona Johnson, MDI Global: People and Culture Manager.
PSFA is sincerely grateful to MDI for partnering with us in the fight against childhood hunger, especially at schools.
